Lizz – Max, you’re from Algeria and your mother tongue is Arabic, what made you write and sing this song in English?
Max – I chose English because music is a universal language. English allows me to reach a wider audience and express emotions in a way that connects beyond borders.
Lizz – What bands and musicians would you sight for inspiring your sound?
Max – My sound is inspired by a mix of alternative rock, grunge, and metal. Bands like Alice in Chains, Deftones, and Nine Inch Nails have influenced my approach to atmosphere and emotion.
Lizz – In terms of production, are you a one-man band? If not, who helped bring Never Enough to life?
Max – I’m not alone for this project. “Never Enough” was produced by Samuli Federley, who helped shape the sound and bring the track to life with a strong production vision.
Lizz – This track has a strong, personal narrative. Was there a specific moment in your life that sparked the song?
Max – It’s inspired by a personal reflection on the constant feeling of never being satisfied, no matter what you achieve. It’s about that inner pressure and the struggle to find balance.
Lizz – Did the creation of this track teach you anything about yourself?
Max – Yes, it made me realize how much pressure we put on ourselves. Creating this song helped me understand that sometimes we need to step back and accept where we are.
Lizz – What can audiences expect to hear from Max Marginal going forward?
Max – Next, I’m working on new material that continues exploring introspective themes, but with different sonic directions. I’m also developing new concepts like street sessions to connect more directly with people.
